The data we collect

Registration requires an email address, a password and a username. We also ask for your year of birth, because FAiR is available only to people aged sixteen and over.

We do not collect first and last name, profession, phone number, wealth or investment experience, and no document is needed to use FAiR. Creators who receive payments verify their identity with the payment provider, on its own systems.

Your username is a pseudonym and is not linked to your identity. We also collect what you publish, your interactions with content and your account settings, which are needed for the service to work.

Purposes and legal bases

Brokers and payments

FAiR does not connect to your broker: we have no access to your wealth, we do not know your positions and we do not place trades on your behalf. We do not ask for bank details.

Subscriptions are handled by Stripe on its own systems: card details never pass through ours and are not stored.

How content is checked

Before it becomes visible, what you publish goes through an automated check: text, images and the audio of videos and voice messages. It serves to keep out violence, hate and illegal material and is an obligation for a platform like this one; for this reason it cannot be turned off.

The check is carried out by three outside companies — Anthropic, OpenAI and Groq — which receive only the content: not your name, your username or your account. They return an assessment; the final decision rests with FAiR.

What we infer from how you use FAiR

FAiR estimates your interests from what you open, the assets you follow and the trades you publish. The estimate is used to order the feed, stays within FAiR and is neither sold nor shared.

It is not stored: it is recalculated every time. It is available in full in the data export. The feed also regularly shows content outside this estimate.

Groups

Each group shows its number of members; the member list is visible only to its moderators. Group chat messages are read by the group's members and deleted after ninety days.

Sponsorships

Sponsored slots may appear in the feed, in Media and among stories, always marked with the "Sponsored" label. Every adult sees them in the same period; the advertiser may limit them to certain countries or an age range. They are not chosen based on your activity, the content you follow or your profile.

No information about you is given to the advertiser: we count how many times the ad was seen and how many different people saw it, without keeping who.

Username reservation

Before launch, a username can be reserved on the website. To do so we process the chosen name, the email address and the language of the page, solely to hold the name, send the confirmation email and, at launch, a single email with the download links and the expiry date of the reservation. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual steps taken at your request.

The email address is not used for any other communication. Reservations not confirmed within 48 hours are deleted; confirmed reservations are deleted when the name is claimed at sign-up or, at the latest, thirty days after launch.

Official username requests

Public figures and creators can request their username from the website. To assess the request we process the requested name, the full name or stage name, the category, the email address, the links to the official profiles provided, any additional information and the message containing the verification code received on our social media accounts. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual steps taken at your request.

The data are used only for the verification and to communicate its outcome, and are deleted ninety days after the response or, if approved, after the name has been assigned.

Retention periods

• Account data is kept while the account is active.
• Group chat messages are deleted after ninety days.
• Direct messages remain until you delete them and are removed when the account is deleted.
• Posts can be deleted at any time; trades remain published and cannot be deleted, because they form each profile's verifiable history.
• Payment and billing data is kept for the period required by law.
• Unconfirmed username reservations are deleted after 48 hours; confirmed ones when the name is claimed at sign-up or, at the latest, thirty days after launch.
• Official username requests are deleted ninety days after the response or after the name has been assigned.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings › Account, without contacting us. The profile is made non-identifiable — username and picture are removed — and posts, videos, stories and comments are deleted.

The results of closed trades remain, without any reference to you: other people's leaderboards are based on them, and removing them would alter their results.

Exporting your data

From the settings you can download all your data in a single readable file.

Where the data is kept

Data is kept with the providers listed above. When a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the safeguards provided by Regulation (EU) 2016/679, such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

Your rights

At any time you can request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Consent to translation can be withdrawn from the settings.

To exercise your rights, write to info@fairsocial.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Minors

FAiR is available only to people aged sixteen and over. Sponsored slots are never shown to people under eighteen.

Changes to this policy

In case of significant changes, the updated policy will be published on this page and communicated in the app.
